Our first tropical bed (FINALLY putting our own plants in the ground!)

Decided to create a bed in front of the shed that Dad just refinished for us, Musa basjoo (hardy banana), castor bean, ginger, canna, hibiscus, dahlias & agapanthus should do the trick.

Presents from Ashlee

Early birthday present from Ashlee (mermaid lying by pool) and a shell pot she gave me and is now filled with succulents. THANKS ASH!

Mom's backyard by Urban Tropics

Only took a year for us to get there but we have started now.

Removal of wallpaper and carpets

Decided to take the 2 layers of wallpaper and blue carpet out of the hallways and spare rooms and was pleased to find hardwood underneath. The walls unfortunately turned out to be mint green with peach closets, so it's rather easter looking. We will eventually paint but haven't gotten around to it yet. Here's a few before and after shots.

Removal of sheds and Dad's finishing touch :)

It was a TON of work but we managed to remove two of the 4 sheds we had, with all the double foundations etc. This left one of the remaining sheds with an ugly black side, so Dad came up with a brilliant idea and bought cedar to cover over and then a neat bamboo curtain to put in the doorway. LOVE IT!

Tiki

Not going to create his own web-site, but I will post some pix of my darling, Tiki. As you will see, we are quite fond of the little guy, and he does love being dressed up.

Inspecting what will become our new home in Ladner

After quite a few months of searching, we decided to expand our search from Vancouver out to Ladner, as we were looking for a property with a large yard, and well, that's exactly what we found. Never thought that the first home I would buy would have a pool! It's going to be a TON of work, but it's going to be fun!!!
