Mayne Island

Well, it's only been 3 years (the Tisdall Wedding) since we've been to Mayne, and Benton's 1st time. Even though we heard it was going to rain the whole time we were still looking forwards to the trip and lucked out as each day was GORGEOUS!

Patiently waiting for the ferry to Schwartz Bay
had to go the long route as we were determined to get there.

What a great set up, Benton loved the Kid Zone and we enjoyed watching Wimbledon on the tube.

We're here!

Ang & Jeff were on my mind a LOT :)

Bath time any one?

Looks familiar :)

Chasing Benton around the house

We might have left a few prints on the glass sliding doors..

Oyster Bay

All the seals sunning themselves

Somebody's getting sleepy

A VERY sleepy boy after a great Mayne day!

He's got the whole ferry in his hand!

Welcome to the Mayne Island Japanese Gardens!
It just gets better every time.

Grandpa's other pagoda

Benton has no fear of water...we LOVE Piggot Bay

but it sure doesn't taste good!!

I love Arbutus trees and can see why Grandpa always painted them

'Hmmm...not sure I like sandy hands'

Only we'd come to Mayne and buy pond liners at a garage sale!

Rob makes friends everywhere

Whale watchers zooming past Bayview

Benton's 1st visit to Lighthouse Park

The Classic Bath Photos :) Unfortunately no cousins with us this time...
Hopefully next trip!

Look out! It's nakey snakey!

The Mayne Mullet, this guy just deserved his pic taken

Lovely scent from the mock orange which obviously deer don't like and are drought tolerant!

This little dude made himself quite comfy by the 'pond'

Heron grabs his lunch out front

The Reef Bay Cave Man

the ONE starfish I saw on the trip and not a happy one

Farmer's Market

mmmmmmmmmm yummy homemade curry at the market

The 'Bayviewers' were treated to a live concert in Reef Bay on Saturday

On one of my walks I was told by a local the 'beach' off Cherry Lane Road was one of the best on Mayne at low tide so Benton and I had to check it out.

Benton sure loved all the tidal pools!

Even on holiday Benton is loving pooping on the potty

Mr Snake who seems to live in the bamboo by Grandpa's pond

As much as I like to avoid photos, a Mayne shot is always nice...

Piggot Bay

Somebody loves Freezies!
Out front of the house, exporing the tidal pools

My little Mexican Wrestler

Back on the ferry, loving the Kid Zone with all the other kids up past their bed times (9pm)

Drivin' and watching the boob tube

Playing the balance game with the kids

Benton trying to get in the back seat with the blonde...typical male!

hmmm...somebody tired?

The perfect end to our lovely holiday at Mayne.
